How To Prevent Windows From Turning Off The Wi-Fi Connection

Windows Vista and Windows 7, by default, have a feature in the network device driver that allows the operating system to shut off the wireless connection if the computer is idle therefore causing the internet connection to be lost at times. This guide will show you how to disable that feature so your internet connection is always alive.

1. Click on Start Menu button
2. Click on Control Panel

3. Click on System and Security

4. On the System area, click on Device Manager

5. On Device Manager, look for Network Adapters and find the Wireless adapter

6. Right-click the network adapter and click on Properties

7. Click on the Power Management tab
8. Uncheck the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power scheme. Click OK and you are done.
